We exist to help individuals, families, and couples learn to Live In Freedom Everyday.
We teach everyone that Living In Freedom Everyday is the practice of understanding talents, passions, and even callings; discovering purpose; and pursuing those purposes continuously.
Loyalty – we believe loyalty is very important as each of our clients deserve quality care and a committed therapist or life coach that understands that the mission and is also living the vision of our company.
Integrity – “A man is only as good as his word,” goes the saying. At LIFE we intend to serve with excellence in all cases disregarding all opportunities for personal gain. We are here to support those that need assistance; therefore, we vow to do all that we can in person and behind closed doors to support each client’s best interest.
Faith – this is a double-edged sword because we are people of faith in Jesus Christ and we also have faith in our client’s ability to change. We believe that anyone can be transformed if given the right tools and healthy guidance.
Elevate – We believe in the power of lifting others to a higher position. When people come together for the purpose of lifting each other, the world becomes a much better place, so this is our daily practice.
My name is Jessica Cotton and I was born and raised in a small city where we did not talk about mental health or its implications for everyday life. When I was a young girl I saw something on TV that was interesting, and I wanted to do it. I am not sure why I wanted to do it so bad, but what I saw just seemed so necessary for life. There was a show that displayed a sick or troubled person laying on a couch talking to another person that listened intently, occasionally taking notes. The troubled person was talking eventually felt better by the end of the scene, and it seemed that the only thing that happened was the troubled person was HEARD. I had no words to define what was taking place, but I knew that I wanted to help people in that way.
Today, I have a counseling degree and lots of experience from living a life of purposeful listening and offering feedback when needed. My husband and I share a similar experience, in that neither of our families exposed us to deliberate practices of talking through our problems or understanding mental/spiritual issues. We both had broken situations that led to us carrying much baggage into our marriage. Now, we get to celebrate the scar's as we have learned that there is freedom to be had from our past and purpose for our future.
As a professional counselor, my goal is to make sure that everyone I sit with feels heard and challenge them to find new ways to, not only exist or survive, but to live and thrive. I counsel because I understand that far too many people are hurting in silence and feel completely alone. Well we really are never alone, even if that is how it feels. Having experience from both sides of the field, the counseled and the counselor, I know what it is like to be in my client’s shoes. In my counseling office, those that I serve, will be able to find hope, love, and trust. In practice, my client comes first, and LIFE is a company that God put in my heart for many years to elevate those that may not otherwise find freedom.
